As we unveil our highly anticipated lineup for 2024, we begin with a spotlight on our latest plug-in hybrid, the BMW X5 xDrive50e. With more power and longer electric range than the previous version, the X5 plug in-features a powerful TwinTurbo 6-cylinder combustion engine with 375 horsepower and increased charging capability.
A fresh interpretation of the BMW headlights and kidney grille give the X5 a significant, impactful presence, playing off the designs of the hallmark aspects of the brand. New headline units now have a 32-millimter slimmer outline with arrow-shaped daytime driving light elements pointing outward and serve as turn signal indicators. The BMW kidney Iconic Glow is now offered as an option for the six-cylinder variants of the new X5, and its cascade lighting creates an extremely eye-catching and brand-typical look. The sleek and sporty X5 is available in Blue Ridge Mountain metallic, Brooklyn Grey metallic, Skyscraper Grey metallic, Frozen Pure Grey metallic and approximately 40 BMW Individual special paint finishes.
On the inside, the X5 boasts an exceptional interior with a focus on comfort and innovative functionality while still showcasing a sporty design. Sensafin, a high-quality vegan leather-like material, surfaces the interior while elegantly curving trim elements in fine wood decorate the cockpit. An ambient light bar with effective LED backlighting seamlessly integrates below the trim in the front passenger area and X5 model lettering is displayed proudly. The control panel on the centre console includes additional touch-sensitive surfaces and a newly designed gear selector lever. Above, a Sky Lounge panoramic glass sunroof illuminated with LED opens the vehicle up to the sky while the crisp sounds of a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System floats through the air. BMW's new Comfort Package incorporates panel heating and a 'thermo' function for cup holders, creating the perfect atmosphere for ease.
New technology is one of the guiding forces behind the brand-new BMW X5, including the arrival of the highly anticipated BMW Curved Display in both the Sports Activity Vehicle and Sports Activity Coupé. The touch control functionality of the control display reduces the number of buttons and switches in favour of digital control for numerous functions. The innovative cockpit and associated updates to the instrument panel bring a particularly progressive feel to the modern premium ambience.
Comfort and safety were also extensively enhanced in the new X5, with a significantly expanded selection of automated driving and parking systems. Updates include enhanced capabilities for the standard front-collision warning system, Speed Limit Assist, exit warning, Active Navigation, route speed control, traffic light recognition, Emergency Stop Assistant, Lane Change Assistant and Merging Assistant. Even more impressive, a new, optional Parking Assistant Professional enables automated parking into and out of spaces and complete manoeuvres over a distance of up to 200 metres to be controlled from outside the car using the My BMW App on an Apple iPhone.
The 2024 BMW X5 brings more power and longer electric range than its previous generation, bringing comfort and sporty together in a plug-in hybrid.
